You submit to Top Up, Cornerstone, Livestyle and The Upper Room through a form on each platform’s own page. Choose the one that fits where you are as an artist. Each form asks for a link to your music and a message, so use the message to say honestly what your music means to you. If you have a question first, email info@alignedvisionmedia.co.uk.
The four platforms
Top Up
Top Up is Aligned Vision’s flagship freestyle platform, and where it all started. The first video, “Konola - Top Up W/Aligned Vision”, premiered on YouTube on 28 March 2020. By 27 December 2021, Top Up had released six full episodes, its first complete season. The page describes it as an invitation to gospel’s most authentic voices.
The page sets out three steps:
- Record your audition performance. Send a video that captures your sound and presence as you perform.
- Share your faith journey. Explain what your music means and how faith lives in your work.
- Wait for our response. We consider every submission with care and contact the artists we believe belong on our stage.
People other than artists can use the Top Up form too. Its options include videographer, artist manager, music label and industry partner, and the page invites people to be a part of Top Up in various ways.
Cornerstone
Cornerstone is built for gospel artists who are ready to break through. Its line is “Where those that are overlooked shine”. The steps are:
- Submit your freestyle. The page says your take can be handheld, polished or somewhere in between.
- Share your story and inspirations. Tell us what drives your music and where your faith meets your art.
- Demonstrate originality and faith-focused creativity. Show the conviction behind your voice and what makes you different.
The Cornerstone form lists gospel artist, emerging vocalist, worship leader, music producer and church representative among its options.
Livestyle
Livestyle is for artists who already have momentum. The page speaks to artists who are building an audience and want to show their talent in a vibrant, unorthodox way, at any location. The steps are:
- Send your freestyle video. A performance that shows who you are as an artist.
- Tell us your vision. The story behind your music and what drives your faith-centred creative expression.
- Reveal your creative process. How you work, including the moments between takes.
The Upper Room
The Upper Room is different from the other three. It’s where Christian creatives sit down for an honest conversation before stepping into a freestyle. The page lists what it looks for in creatives:
- a creative life grounded in genuine faith
- an uncompromising artistic vision that comes from conviction
- the courage for honest dialogue, without hiding behind a performance.
If you want to talk about your faith and your story on camera as well as perform, this is the platform to look at. The conversation format is close to a video podcast, which we cover in How to start a video podcast for your church or ministry.
What every form asks for
All four forms ask for the same core details:
- first and last name
- email address and phone number
- how you would describe yourself, chosen from a list (Livestyle asks how you create)
- a link to a song
- a message
- agreement to the terms.
Each page lists info@alignedvisionmedia.co.uk for questions.
How to prepare a strong submission
The pages ask for a performance and a story, so put your effort into both.
Get the audio right. Clear sound is the first thing to sort. Record somewhere quiet and keep the beat low enough that every word comes through. Listen back on headphones before you send it.
Show your presence. Top Up asks for a video that captures your sound and presence. Know your bars and perform to the camera. Cornerstone accepts handheld takes, so a phone video can work if the sound is clean.
Check your link. Make sure the song link opens without a login and plays from the start. A private file or a broken link leaves us nothing to listen to.
Write a short, honest message. Every platform asks about your faith or your story. A few sentences on what the song is about and why you wrote it cover what the pages ask for.
Choose the right platform. Read the four pages and pick the one that fits you best. Cornerstone is aimed at artists ready to break through, while Livestyle is for artists who already have momentum.
Where the platforms fit in Aligned Vision’s story
The About page tells how the platforms grew. On 28 September 2023, Aligned Vision secured its first official partnerships, with Gospel Hydration and Platoon Music, and launched the “Refresh Sessions”. More recently, a partnership with Premier Gospel launched the “Fire & Flows” segment. Livestyle, Cornerstone, The Upper Room and Be Revived were set up as their own platforms alongside Top Up.
